A Selection Model of Traffic Safety Facility in School Zones

摘要: 交通安全设施对提高学校地区交通安全有重要作用.但在实际工程应用过程中存在2类问题:①学校地区某种交通安全设施的有效性问题;②是否需要增设新的设施以提高现有设施有效性问题.以解决学校地区这2类工程问题为出发点,建立了一种迭代判别式交通安全设施选择模型.选取北京市2种不同类型的学校为研究对象,采用驾驶模拟技术获取了平均速度、相对速度变化率、加速度标准差等评价指标,以黄色闪烁警示灯为基础,说明了迭代判别式交通安全设施选择模型的应用过程及结果.研究结果表明,该模型对于解决多种交通安全设施的选择问题具有较好的实用性.Abstract: Traffic safety facility plays an important role in improving traffic safety in school districts.However there are two problems when deploying traffic safety facilities in engineering practice:① whether installation of traffic safety facilities is effective;② whether a new facility is necessary to increase the effectiveness of existing facilities.A selection model is developed in order to solve those problems.Two representative school districts in Beijing are selected as a case study for driving simulation.Average speed,relative speed difference,and standard deviation of acceleration are selected as quantificational indicators to evaluate performances of traffic safety facilities in those two school districts.Flashing Beacon is selected as the focus to explain the selection model of traffic safety facility.The results show that the proposed model can provide a generic framework to assess different traffic safety facilities combinations performance in school districts.
